It is really hard to function without even talking to you. I think my experience this whole day speaks for itself. I just want things to work out, but I feel like you’re giving up.
So today I went to pay for banquet… and I figured out my BIG paid for it already. I don’t know. It made me really happy that she’s doing her best to be a caring, thoughtful BIG. It’s the little things that count and I definitely have 3 great females in my life. My mom, my lovely girlfriend<3, and my BIG!
Ever since college started, I have almost no sense of time. I don’t know what time it is most of the time. Therefore, I have a watch to help me tell time, but even then, I don’t have time to check the time because my time is of the essence.
A lot of people are my age or older and still act like they’re in high school. Like, grow up. The immaturity that I see sometimes is pitiful.
Now an active (specifically neophyte) of Alpha Phi Omega. 10 weeks of hard work and now it is all over! Pledging was an eventful and fun, but demanding experience. I’m just glad I got to cross. Thank you to Rita Mae for the everlasting support, Jacqueline for making sure I’m on top of my pledging stuff, and pledge brothers for being there for me!
LIFE IS GOOD.
Alpha Phi Omega Pledging is OVER:
Wow. I can’t believe that about 11 weeks ago, I didn’t know any one of these guys, brothers or pledge brothers. I received the news today! I PASSED MY PLEDGE FINAL! Therefore, I will be a neophyte (still basically an active) this SUNDAY! I am very excited! Pledging has played a huge role in my growth at UCLA! I have grown to identify with people with different career aspirations (Whereas before I only really associated with business people), I have become a lot more humble, I have become more involved in the community, and I have found a true balance between the social and academic aspects of UCLA. I am truly happy with this fraternity because of everything it has done for me. Pledging was both time consuming and stressful, but it was a positive experience overall that has made me a stronger, more humble leader.
My BIG, Jacqueline Banh:
THANK YOU! You have helped shape my experience into a positive one for Alpha Phi Omega! I really appreciate everything that you have done for me! Although you are mean to me, you are really tough on me and discipline me when I need to study. I couldn’t ask for a better BIG! I know we don’t hang out all the time, but I know I can go to you for anything and completely be judged. Lol. Anyways, I have more to say, but I will save that for BANQUET!
Alpha Eta Pledge Class:
These guys really surprised me. I know that going to UCLA makes you at least remotely well rounded. However, I have never experienced meeting completely different people from me here at UCLA until I pledged with this class! I came in knowing only about business and was very professional. However, this class helped loosen me up. These guys are a good mix of science and business majors who all want to make something out of themselves, but are trying to finding their niche at UCLA! That was probably the only thing I had in common with most of these guys. However, it was strong enough to bring us together! These guys are like my 3rd family overall and 1st family at UCLA! I never feel judged with these guys and we have suffered through pledging together! I can’t wait to cross over with these guys on Sunday!
Marlon & Devin:
I am so excited to see these guys next weekend! I have finally finished pledging and now I have time for myself! These guys are my 2nd family (with Rita Mae) and have always been here for me! I can’t wait to get home, not feel ghetto anymore, and be in the comfort of my home with the accessibility of free movies! I am excited to go on food runs, spontaneous movie bonding dates, and road trips with these guys!
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE:
Rita Mae Nuevo: My honeycomb, lovely other dinosaur, honeybaby, behbehs, bezbez, baybay, honay, babesters, and of course… the love of my life! I can’t live without her! I am so excited to see her next week! I am also very excited to spend time with her this summer! We’re gonna go on roadtrips, get fat, lose the fat by exercising, and watching a bunch of movies with oily ass popcorn! She has helped me through so much and has continued to support me throughout the long distance period of our relationship! We are basically done with our very first year of doing long distance. I will be honest, it was tough sometimes and it got kind of ugly sometimes… However, we were able to make it through and we are both still happy as ever and STRONG as ever! If anything, we have grown stronger, closer, and healthier as a couple! We have established the fact that we can handle being 360+ miles apart and don’t depend on the physical aspect of our relationship to make us happy! Now, we just have to get over the half way mark and finish strong! This year has made me very optimistic for the three years to come! There is no doubt in my mind that we will continue to do well and hopefully one day, I will never have to say goodbye again!
THIS SUMMER:
I am so excited for this summer! I went through my old pictures and found the picture of my girlfriend, Rita Mae, jumping on me during a roadtrip to NorCal last summer! It makes me think of the roadtrip I really want to have with my Rita Mae and my friends, Marlon and Devin! I want to make this summer special because I am finally coming home for a long time after stressing my ass off at UCLA! There are so many things that I want to do this summer! Bonfires, movies, food runs, roadtrips, amusement parks, beach, visit people, and etc! I AM SO READY! Four more weeks of school and I am free for three months!
It is always nice to love something from the beginning. But to start off feeling indifferent, and then growing to love it… it is truly something special.<3 Activation Ceremony is on Sunday. I get my Pledge Final results soon…
